Missouri’s Public Workforce System will no longer be our state’s best-kept secret. We will redesign and reengineer our public workforce system as part of the Job Centers of the Future initiative.

This initiative will use new strategies to broaden the scale and scope of Missouri’s workforce development programs. These strategies include tracking customer progress as they move through the job seeking process, establishing performance goals that are competitive with other Midwestern states, and enhancing our marketing capabilities to extend the reach of the state’s workforce services.

ABOUT THE INITIATIVE

Missouri Job Center Connect is an effort to streamline services, access, and better connect Missourians to employers. This effort began its implementation phase in June 2021 and is now led under the State Workforce Development Board Executive Committee. Job Center Connect seeks to meet citizens where they're at to fully support their transition to sustainable employment. This effort also seeks to better connect with employers to resolve their hiring challenges and develop talent pipeline solutions.

Current Updates

On December 3rd, Missouri's Office of Workforce Development concluded a pilot which successfully streamlined services to citizens seeking job center services. This pilot was completed in partnership with the St. Louis County Local Workforce Development Board Director, Greg LaPosa. This pilot engaged citizens on building a quality resume to prepare individuals to enter the workforce. Because of this approach, citizens received employment within 24 hours to 2 weeks.

This streamlined approach will be scaled across all 27 job centers throughout 2022 to better engage citizens and connect them to employment.
